Fire Signage

Fire Extinguisher Sign Positioning Guide as per AS2444:

What is the correct height for fire extinguisher signs?

  • Fire extinguisher location sign must be visible from 20m. If this is not possible with a flat wall sign, consider off-wall type.
  • Fire extinguisher location sign must be mounted at least 2000mm above the floor.
  • Fire extinguisher chemical sign must be located immediately above the fire extinguisher.

The following points are typical examples of what may be required to comply with the BCA Section D2.23 and AS1319-1994. This advice may not apply to every situation and is based on industry experience. The information provided is not to be considered as exhaustive, binding or legal advice outside of what you may obtain through professional consultancy.
