Why is a Manual Heavy Duty Industrial Swing Gate Superior to an Automatic System?
There are different options available when choosing a swing gate suitable for a warehouse/industrial environment. It is important that all aspects including condition of the location, maintenance and purpose of the swing gate are considered prior to purchasing a swing gate system. Manual Swing Gates are used to limit the access to pedestrians or vehicles in unsafe or unauthorised areas. One of the alternate Swing Gate options to manual, is an automatic system. While there are advantages to an automatic operation, the Manual Swing Gate still remains the superior choice, for the following reasons:
✔ No Power/Electricity is
Required
Automatic Swing Gates require electricity, meaning the
location where the swing gate is being installed will need to have access to
power outlets. If there is no access to power in the desired install location
the Automatic system won’t be suitable for use. A Manual Swing Gate does not require power in order to operate which makes this
system suitable in all different locations where installation would be
required.
✔ Manual Systems can be used
in all Conditions
In the event of power failure, you will no longer have
access to the restricted/gated area beyond the swing gate as it becomes
non-operational due to the lack of power. As Manual Swing Gates do not require power, a power outage will not affect the
operation of the swing gate. Access in and out of the restricted area is
possible which may be necessary in emergency situations. A Manual Swing Gate
only requires one person to open and close the gate as required.
✔ Almost Near to No
Maintenance
A Manual Swing Gate is much easier to maintain with next to no maintenance required
to ensure it remains in an operational condition. An Automatic Swing Gate
requires an electrician to visit the facility to provide ongoing maintenance to
ensure it remains operational which could become quite costly and time
consuming.
✔ Inexpensive to Replace
Broken Parts
If an Automatic Swing Gate was to break down, the individual
mechanical parts that require replacement are quite expensive. It is seen more
often than not that automatic systems run into mechanical issues, where
replacements are required in order for the swing gate to be fixed. As there are
zero mechanical fixtures on a Manual Swing Gate, if in the event there were operational issues, the replacement
costs are significantly reduced.
Industrial Manual Swing Gates are the superior choice as they are an easier system not only to install and maintain, but also to operate. Where a quick and effective solution is required to limit the access to pedestrians and vehicles in an unsafe or unauthorised area, the Manual Swing Gate is the guaranteed option.
