About The Client 

ABC Tissue is an Australian-owned company that manufactures and distributes tissue and paper products. It's best known for the Quilton brand, which is one of Australia’s most popular toilet paper brands. The company also produces other tissue products such as facial tissues, paper towels, and napkins under various brand names 

The Requirement 

To ensure separation between people and machinery in their busy manufacturing and warehouse facilities.

The Challenges 

• System Compatibility: The rails and gates need to align with current infrastructure without requiring major on-site modifications. 
• Self-Closing Reliability: Even with high-quality gates, ensuring consistent closure in busy, high-use areas remains critical. 
• Installation Disruption: Minimising downtime during installation is essential in a 24/7 operational environment. 
• Complex Layouts: Fitting the rails and self-closing gates into existing tight or irregular spaces requires careful planning.

The Solution 

After evaluating the challenges and  requirements,  ABC Tissue selected Area Safe’s Pedestrian Rail Kit and Self Closing Gates.  

The Pedestrian Rail Kit offers the following features:  

• Heavy-Duty Construction: Built with 48mm horizontal rails and posts connected by heavy-duty galvanised cast fittings, the system is designed to handle high-traffic environments and harsh conditions, offering long-term strength and durability. 
• Modular Design: Supplied in kit form with a variety of fittings and accessories, the Surex Pedestrian Rail is quick to assemble and ideal for establishing permanent walkways or exclusion zones. Its modular nature makes it easy to adapt to different site layouts. 
• Customisable Finishes: Available in safety yellow, black, or plain galvanised, the rails can be tailored to suit visibility requirements or aesthetic preferences, helping improve safety and visual integration across different areas.
